Depression Warning Signs

Major Depressive Disorder is a common diagnosis in adults. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, around 17.3 million adults in the US have experienced at least one episode of major depression. This amounts to about 7.1% of all US adults.

Depression is more than just feeling sad.

Depression involves an assortment of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are related to a central theme of a persistent low, depressed mood.

To the left is a collection of common warning signs and symptoms of depression. Some of these may be easy to spot. Others may be more subtle or have come on slowly enough that recognizing the change may be difficult.
